Yuks General at Sakura Mi 2014

Went to an event at Lake Balboa to check out the blooming cherry blossom trees over the weekend, but they hadn’t quite bloomed fully yet.

Still, I did get a chance to take a few nice shots of Yuks General, and got to try a couple sunset portraits. I’ve always wanted to try doing one, and there were just enough clouds to make a really nice backdrop.

Yuks General at ALA 2014

Before ALA began, I’d contacted Yuks General to schedule a shoot, as I’d seen previews of her Lu Ling Qi cosplay and really wanted to shoot it. We ended up doing shoots each day for each of her cosplays, and also a couple of her friends too.

Saturday: Jinx, with G2 as Jax, Ichi Rohai as Yasuo, Ren Fawnlet as Annie. This was the first time I’ve done a shoot with a group, but fortunately my light was up to the task, once I’d turned up the power just a bit higher than I normally set it at.

Sunday: Judal, with David the Han as Kouen. For this shoot, the battery for my remote trigger died so I couldn’t use my dish (that was a little embarrassing). Still, there was plenty of light from the sun and I’d picked out an area that was well shaded, so the shots still turned out pretty well.
